At San Francisco Animal Care & Control (SFACC), they understand that using social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter to get the word out is a great way to connect their animals with loving forever homes. While most of the animals they post tend to get a modest amount of likes and shares, a pooch named Carpe Diem recently stole everyone’s hearts thanks to his adorably awkward photo shoot.
A tweet by the SFACC, which read “Adopt Carpe Diem and you will OWN #MyWeirdDog,” was reshared and liked enough times to go viral. When you get a look at Carpe Diem’s photos, which were intended to be impressive, you’ll see why. Many shelters give their animals photoshoots like this, but Carpe Diem is just such a little goofball that he cant’ help but have that shine through in his pictures!
This is Carpe Diem, a stray chihuahua whose adoption photo shoot went hilariously wrong and won hearts all across Twitter.
Recently, SFACC tweeted “Adopt Carpe Diem and you will OWN #MyWeirdDog.” Apparently, people love weird dogs, because that tweet was shared over 700 times and liked by nearly 2,000 people.
Take a look at that adorable, derpy face and you’ll see why!
Deb Campbell, a rep for SFACC, described him as “a very silly little dog.”
“He is always happy and upbeat and excited about everything he sees and everyone he meets.”
UPDATE: He’s been adopted! Yay!
When it was his time to shine, Carpe Diem certainly seized the day in his own unique style. Here’s hoping he has a lifetime of love and happiness at his new home!
