Great Danes are elegant, sweet, and goofy creatures. But they’re also pretty huge. Luckily for Terri and Josh of Alabama, they L-O-V-E big dogs. But how much? Well, when they learned their 4-year-old Great Dane, Velma, was pregnant, they didn’t plan on giving even one of her puppies away. And that’s when things got kind of crazy.
Terri and Josh knew that Velma was pregnant, and they were beyond excited. But they had no idea she was expecting 19 bundles of joy.
In total, the labor and delivery took 19 hours. That’s one hour per pup!
The adorable little puppies just kept coming. Josh and Terri were stunned!
Now they have 20 lovely little dog friends who live with them, and they couldn’t be happier!
Velma’s litter tied her with only one other Great Dane on record for the largest live births. Somebody prep her the Mother of the Year trophy, stat!
