Bear, a beautiful gray wolf spent his life inside a cage at a roadside attraction. He lived on a cement floor at the Animaland Zoological Park in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.
The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) worked hard to have him, and several animals living at the park, find more suitable homes. A Siberian tiger also lived in these miserable conditions.
The ALDF’s mission is to protect the interests of animals using the legal system. The ALDF, based out of San Francisco, was founded in 1979 and have blazed the trail for more humane treatment of animals and stronger anti-cruelty laws.

After winning the legal battle, ALDF began transferring all the animals to sanctuaries around the country. Animaland was forced to close, forever!
Bear will live the rest of his life out at the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania! Once at the Wolf Sanctuary, Bear and all the other wolves are given the freedom to roam the woods.
Bear now has a comfortable and stimulating environment to live wild and free! Bear won’t have to live his life in a cage!
Bear is not going to be alone anymore!
